Defense Innovation Accelerator
The NSIN Defense Innovation Accelerator pairs technology developed in Department of Defense (DoD) laboratories with those interested in starting a high-tech company. Teams are paired with knowledgeable instructors and mentors who have entrepreneurial experience and/or are experts in their field to guide the process.
During the Defense Innovation Accelerator teams of entrepreneurs work with cybersecurity and secure communications technology, autonomous systems, AI, VR and computer vision, sensors, and human performance tech.
The program is broken up into two phases, each lasting ~12 weeks. During Phase I teams delve into the possible use cases of their assigned technology and generate a market assessment through stakeholder interviews. The goal of this phase is to validate the problem-solution fit. The most promising teams are invited back for Phase II, as they begin the process of company formation and licensing. This includes milestone setting, go-to-market roadmap, channel partner strategy, funding pathways, etc. This phase includes establishing formal relationship through licensing agreements.
