The NSIN Defense Innovation Accelerator (DIA) matches breakthrough Department of Defense (DoD) lab technology with teams of entrepreneurs to solve the real-world problems of DoD and commercial customers. Entrepreneurs work with DoD lab inventors, mentors and subject matter experts from the Government and private sectors, and world class instructors to assess the market viability and the potential to commercialize DoD lab technologies.
DIA is an intensive 4-month cohort-based program executed in two phases: customer discovery and early company formation. Successful teams have gone on to form companies, license the technology from the labs and pursue various funding opportunities.

DISA
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) works to provide command and control capabilities and enterprise infrastructure to support joint warfighters and national leaders. FedTech has partnered with DISA in carrying out their mission, through the implementation of lean startup principles.
The employment of the lean startup model allows for higher adoption rates of DISA services and capabilities, allows employees to make quick business decisions based on evidence, facts, and validated data, fosters a culture of employees to focus on customer outcomes, and empowers employees to bring ideas forward and become change agents to fix problems at local and global levels.
FedTech consistently engages our partners at DISA, working to engender intrapreneuship within the DISA ranks through in-person and virtual short trainings; multi-day in-person trainings; and in supporting staff internal innovation operations.
