Companies receive structured support designed around their stage and growth needs.

eiX Venture Studio

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Exchange (eiX) Venture Studio pairs teams of entrepreneurs with advanced energy technology from universities and federal laboratories, and the support needed to determine whether and how it can become a business. The technologies entering the program are selected for their commercial potential, so participants are not starting from scratch. They are starting with a technology that has been chosen as a credible foundation to build from. Teams that validate a path to market have the opportunity to license the underlying IP and incorporate.

NASA Entrepreneurial Opportunity Program

Empowering NASA researchers to commercialize inventions through stakeholder engagement, customer discovery, and business strategy training with FedTech.

Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Lean Startup Training

We partnered with DISA to enhance service adoption and empower employees through lean startup principles and innovation training.

DoD Elevate

DoD Elevate is a year-long training series sponsored by the Defense Laboratories Office (DLE). Elevate equips DoD lab personnel, including tech transfer professionals, with venture-proven techniques in product development, management, and innovation.

Crucible Primer

The Crucible Primer 2025 is designed to equip federal researchers with the critical skills, strategies, and frameworks necessary to maximize the impact of their research within the Department of Defense (DoD) and beyond. These programs aim to address long-standing funding disparities that have historically hindered their growth potential.

Homeland Security ScaleUp

Funded by the NavalX Inland Empire Tech Bridge, powered by FedTech, Crucible Ignitor is a startup studio that matches federal or university created technologies with entrepreneur teams to promote dual-use technology commercialization. Now entering its third year, successful teams form new companies, license technologies, and develop solutions that can impact government or private markets. Entrepreneurs work closely with inventors, technology transfer, subject matter experts, and advisors.

Homeland Security Startup Studio

The Homeland Security Startup Studio by FedTech brings entrepreneurial minds and scientific innovation together to foster global impact. Focused on promoting DHS S&T-funded technologies originating from university labs, federal labs, and FFRDCs, this platform connects entrepreneurs with vetted federal lab tech to evaluate and actualize its potential for commercialization. It's a collaborative environment where new ventures are crafted to address the pressing needs of homeland security, serving both government and commercial sectors.

FedTech Startup Studio

After identifying breakthrough tech from federal and university labs, we pair entrepreneurs with a technology that shows promising market potential. Over the course of several months, we walk these teams through the lean startup model, while focusing on the unique aspects of commercializing federally funded technologies.

DOE Emerging Tech Studio (DETS)

As energy dependency becomes one of the most significant threats we face, the NNSA and the DOE continue to serve as a catalyst for innovation, investing millions of dollars into national laboratories. Throughout the program teams of highly talented entrepreneurs are paired with technologies on the forefront of innovation with the objective of spinning out market-defining startups.
