The NSIN Defense Innovation Accelerator (DIA) matches breakthrough Department of Defense (DoD) lab technology with teams of entrepreneurs to solve the real-world problems of DoD and commercial customers. Entrepreneurs work with DoD lab inventors, mentors and subject matter experts from the Government and private sectors, and world class instructors to assess the market viability and the potential to commercialize DoD lab technologies.
DIA is an intensive 4-month cohort-based program executed in two phases: customer discovery and early company formation. Successful teams have gone on to form companies, license the technology from the labs and pursue various funding opportunities.

Innovation Combine Cohort
Army Futures Command's inaugural Innovation Combine took place throughout Summer 2020 as a prize competition and contracting opportunity for advanced technology solutions to pressing Army problems. Over sixty unique companies joined the Army innovation network with proposals ranging from scalable power and energy solutions to novel materials for weight reduction and survivability. Twenty semifinalists and eight finalists were selected by the Army judges, resulting in contracts negotiated with two grand prize winners.
At the conclusion of the competition, all 67 participating companies were invited to take part in the inaugural Innovation Combine Cohort, powered by FedTech. Our mission for this cohort is to accelerate each company's understanding of its own Army technology transition strategy.
We’re bringing our expertise from the xTech Accelerator, our understanding of DoD technology, and business development methodologies to fully support participants from the inaugural Innovation Combine. Over the course of 3 months, the companies will join our virtual community of 700+ dual-use entrepreneurs, get access to curated resources, and receive guidance as well as training from experts within the FedTech network.
