The NSIN Defense Innovation Accelerator (DIA) matches breakthrough Department of Defense (DoD) lab technology with teams of entrepreneurs to solve the real-world problems of DoD and commercial customers. Entrepreneurs work with DoD lab inventors, mentors and subject matter experts from the Government and private sectors, and world class instructors to assess the market viability and the potential to commercialize DoD lab technologies.
DIA is an intensive 4-month cohort-based program executed in two phases: customer discovery and early company formation. Successful teams have gone on to form companies, license the technology from the labs and pursue various funding opportunities.

About The Massachusetts Climatetech Studio
FedTech has joined forces with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) to establish the Massachusetts Climatetech Studio.
Our goal? To support MassCEC in accelerating clean energy in Massachusetts through matching Intellectual Property (IP) from Universities and Labs with entrepreneurial teams across the state.
Kicking off with Bootcamp on July 20, selected applicants will have a unique opportunity to participate in an exciting 16-week cohort. With access to unparalleled resources and expert guidance from FedTech, entrepreneurial teams will be challenged to craft and refine a viable go-to-market strategy for groundbreaking technologies sourced from university or federal labs.
Each participant will receive a $15,000 stipend and have the chance to win further prize money and grant funding. There is no cost to participate, no equity taken, and the program is designed to be flexible for those working full-time.
Program Timeline
Phase I
July 22nd - September 13th
In Phase 1, startup teams focus on developing an understanding of their assigned technology, it's potential uses, and engaging in intensive customer discovery to determine a need from a potential customer. The Phase culminates in an internal pitch event where teams showcase their findings and outline their current business concept.
Phase II
September 23rd - November 15th
In Phase II, startup teams focus down on further developing their business concept by doing work on commercialization and licensing, market strategy, and their roadmap for future growth. The startups will pitch their business concepts at an external showcase similar to a demo day.
Program workshops are virtual and occur on Wednesdays from 6 - 7:30pm EST.
*Entrepreneurs accepted into the Massachusetts Climatetech Studio would attend both Phase I & Phase II of the program.
