Mark Bigham Joins FedTech as a Strategic Advisor

FedTech is pleased to announce that Mark A. Bigham has joined the company as a Strategic Advisor. Mark brings a wealth of innovation leadership experience to FedTech from his distinguished career in military service, defense technology solutions, and the aerospace industry.

Mark held multiple leadership roles at Raytheon, most recently serving as Chief Innovation Officer at Raytheon Company’s Intelligence and Information Services (IIS). In this role, he worked across Raytheon to develop better solutions for customers, creating an environment that fostered and encouraged innovation. His oversight covered new operational concepts, processes, services, business models and technology or products that can solve complex customer challenges. He also focused on the application of advanced analytics, augmented reality, autonomy and integrated fires to dramatically improve performance and reduce cost.

Prior to taking on the CIO role, Mark served as Raytheon’s Vice President of Business Development for Defense and Civil Mission Solutions (DCMS), helping establish the company as a leader in unmanned ground systems and Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) markets that have increased growth and new advancements in technology. Mark’s responsibilities included marketing, bids/proposals, and growth – helping turn the Tactical Intelligence Systems business unit around from $275M in sales to over $1B. The organization focused on airborne SIGINT sensors, multi-INT ground systems, technology for unmanned aerial systems, ground stations and ISR battlespace management.

Before joining Raytheon in 2005, Mark co-founded ComCept, Inc, a successful defense startup that was later sold to L-3 Communications. Mark also served in the U.S. Air Force, joining as an electronic intelligence analyst in 1979 stationed in Berlin, Germany at the height of the Cold War. During his tenure in the U.S. Air Force, he flew numerous combat missions, was a tactical operations controller in the Berlin Tactical Operations Center and program manager responsible for managing the upgrade of a variety of intelligence systems. Mark is a graduate of the intermediate and advanced cryptologic courses at the National Security Agency (NSA).
