On December 9, 2021, FedTech hosted the exciting opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to pitch their respective technologies in front of a host of judges after a keynote event from U.S. Representative Don Beyer.
Entrepreneurs from a wide array of backgrounds gathered over the last year to develop a go-to-market strategy for their assigned cutting-edge technology. They conducted real business development research—including over 400 customer discovery interviews and speaking with professionals in their respective sectors for real insights into how their technology can integrate into their fields.
Meet the Companies
Teams of three took their assigned technologies and transformed them into the following companies: Uppbio, Slipknot, Enfluxx, Biovind, Purgo Technologies, Canopy Aerospace, Hermes Dynamics, Omnisync, Lumo, and HealieTech. Their companies ranged in industry, including medical, pharmaceutical, mining, and even lighting.
Canopy Aerospace and Uppbio won the Judges’ Choice Award, earning them $1,000 worth of consulting packages for their companies moving forward from FedTech.
A Word from U.S. Representative Don Beyer
In his keynote address, U.S. Representative Don Beyer said,
“These emerging technologies that we can’t predict are going to have significant economic and security consequences and I just love the idea that FedTech exists to make sure that the best and brightest of our nation’s R&D enterprises are translated into the hardest working and most optimistic of our entrepreneurial breed. This will be good for America, but good for the whole globe.”
