FedTech Frontier Venture Summit

A culmination of FedTech's Startup Studio program featuring finalist pitches, our keynote speaker, and a vote for the best startup pitch

Thursday, April 22, 2021

 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM EDT

About FedTech Frontier Venture Summit

FedTech's Startup Studio program pairs teams of entrepreneurs with scientists and technologists to commercialize lab technologies, and solve real-world problems.

FedTech partnered with the Department of Energy (DoE), the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to run a Startup Studio program to help teams realize the commercial potential of these inventions. The technological areas represented range from counterfeit chip detection to biomedical devices.

The FedTech Frontier Venture Summit is an opportunity for these startup teams to pitch in front of a panel of experts, and for the rest of the community to come together to learn, network, and celebrate.

The Teams

Chipylitics - Startup from FedTech Startup Studio

Data-Driven Quality Assurance for Semiconductors

Low-grade, counterfeit semiconductors pose an estimated $200 billion risk per year to the global electronics supply chain. Existing chip-level quality assurance techniques are expensive and limited to a subset of sampled components. Chiplytics™ implements a novel, patented electrical testing procedure called Power Spectrum Analysis (PSA) to ensure that all chips beyond a sample set are authentic and defect-free.

Fueling Raw Innovation

COOSorbent is a modular biogas upgrading solution. Our technology upgrades biogas to 99% purity and higher, making it ready to be injected directly into existing natural gas pipelines. Our patented chemical sorbent technology does all this while with <1% loss of methane during the upgrading process. Once upgraded, renewable natural gas qualifies for California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard, raising the value of the gas from $3/MMBTU to $75/MMBTU.

Chipper - Startup from FedTech Startup Studio

Human Metabolism at Microscale

Chipper’s technology is a novel multi-organ microphysiological system (also known as a body-on-a-chip) engineered to detect acute toxicity of small molecule drugs and other compounds. This system is a microfluidic cell culture device that contains chambers to house several organ-specific tissues, sourced from human primary or stem cells. These chambers are connected via microfluidic channels to enable the recirculation of cell medium to replicate both known and unknown metabolic pathways.
